Our story

Alisha & Amanda kept a Taylor institution alive.

Two women in their 30s bought the early-1900s building at 102 Talbot, renovated the feed store, and stayed open because this town still needs one.

The owners

Neighbors first. Feed store folks second.

Taylor Feed & Supply has been on Talbot Street since the early 1900s — more than a hundred years of sacks, hay, and folks who know your animals by name. When the building came up, Alisha Fowler and Amanda Feely bought it. They renovated the shop, restocked the shelves, and kept a Taylor institution from going dark.

It would have been easier not to. They did it anyway. As they told folks around town: there is a real need for this store. Taylor is growing. People should not have to drive all the way to Austin for feed, hay, boots, or barn supplies.

And by the way — the other half of this building is BoxDrop Taylor Mattress & Furniture, also run by Alisha and Amanda. Same roof, different shop. If you came for a sofa, you’re in the other door. If you came for horse feed, you’re in the right place.

In 2024 the Greater Taylor Chamber named them for Excellence in Entrepreneurship. That ribbon cutting still feels like a thank-you from the neighbors who showed up.

The shop

Come say hi. We’ll help you load the truck. For the day’s stock, fish wagon hours, and Barley the shop dog, they still post on Facebook — the same page that’s been the shop’s bulletin board for years.

The renovation

Same bones. Fresh shelves.

The early-1900s building still feels like a feed store — wooden floors, a warehouse you can pull to, and a counter where somebody will actually answer a question. Alisha and Amanda cleaned it up, brought the brands back, and left the hometown part alone.
